This session will provide an overview of the Provincial Nuclear Emergency Response Plan (PNERP) - plans, programs and exercises. Learn about public safety during nuclear emergencies including Ontario’s off-site responsibilities in the preparedness for, response to, and recovery from nuclear or radiological incidents.
Guest speaker: Mary La Chapelle, Acting Deputy Director Durham Emergency Management (DEM) office

Guest speaker: Mary La Chapelle, Acting Deputy Director Durham Emergency Management (DEM) office
Mary La Chapelle started her career with the Region of Durham 23 years ago in Social Services and the last six with Durham Emergency Management on the nuclear portfolio. She has been the acting Deputy Director since January 2024. Mary is responsible for designing, planning and evaluating all nuclear exercises, nuclear training and the public alerting portfolio. Mary has been an active member-at-large with WiN (Women in Nuclear) Durham since 2022.
