9/29/2021 - 9/29/2021

Event Description

Session Description:

The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted many vulnerabilities within our system. Crisis can spark a turning point for change and can provide valuable insights into the parts of our system that are no longer sustainable.

This workshop will provide participants an opportunity to learn and discuss:

  1. The changing environment at the global and national level, and future outlook in emergency/disaster management;
  2. Raise awareness and discuss emergency management systemic challenges as outlined in Ontario 2020 AG Report
  3. Allow Workshop participants to share their valuable, frontline experience and knowledge through a series of small breakout sessions exploring different perspectives and mindsets (compliance, resilience/growth), system weakness/deficiencies and identify new opportunities for change to support future emergency management readiness

A forum that allows you to contribute to industry next steps !

The collective intelligence and insights captured from this workshop will be used as an advocacy tool to advance discussions on future change focusing on risk management/governance, response structure coordination and capacity in emergency management to build future resilience. The final result, will be a “whitepaper”, that OAEM will distribute and share widely with membership, key government stakeholders and present findings at a future conference to facilitate dialogue.
