Join us! This session will provide an overview of the Canadian Coast Guards’ mandate, programs, services, and resources, including international partnerships and cross-border agreements. Welcome guest speaker and OAEM member Matthew Ducker, Team Leader, Exercise Planning, Exercise and Preparedness, Incident Management Directorate.

Bio:

Matthew Ducker is an emergency management professional currently serving with the Canadian Coast Guard's (CCG) Exercise and Preparedness team as part of the broader Incident Management Directorate. Since 2015, Matthew has supported the advancement of emergency management within CCG, contributing to the establishment its Office of Incident Management (now Exercises and Preparedness) and spearheading the development of the national Incident Command System (ICS) training strategy.

Matthew has delivered training across Canada and contributed to international capacity-building efforts with the Kenyan Coast Guard Service. As an exercise planner, Matthew has led national and international exercises, supporting the CCG's emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Matthew's expertise extends to serving within Incident Management Teams for pollution recovery operations, as well as in coordination roles during the agency's responses to critical events such as COVID-19 and various Requests for Federal Assistance.
